Mat 27:22-23

“What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?” Pilate asked. They all answered, “Crucify him!”   Why? What crime has he committed?” asked Pilate. But they shouted all the louder, “Crucify him!”

These are the same people who, about six days ago, lined the street waving palm branches and shouting “Hosannah, Blessed is He Who comes.”  It’s amazing how fast we can change to stay “with the crowd.”  Where would you be if this were occurring today?  We crucify Jesus every day when we lie (even what we call little white lies), when we don’t speak up or give Him glory, when we don’t pray to Him and listen to Him, the list goes on and on.  Before we are too quick to condemn those who yelled “Crucify” on that Friday, we must examine our hearts and lives.  Take this day to confess those things which might separate you from God, ask for His forgiveness, accept His forgiveness, forgive yourself and others and ask for a fresh in-filling of His Holy Spirit to enable you to bring glory to Him rather than crucify Him.
