Ruth

Ru 1:16 But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.

What a leap of faith.  Naomi must have had great faith in God to be such an example to Ruth.  Not only was Ruth leaving all she knew behind her for the unknown, she was walking into a new faith.  She did not do this with restrictions on any area but welcomed the new direction in its entirety.  So often we put restrictions on changes.  Many a church dies because the members refuse to change from their old ways.  Many of us miss wonderful opportunities God provides us just because we never did it before.  God has wonderful plans for our lives.  Ruth welcomed the new direction with open arms and became part of the linage of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  There is no telling what God will do with us when we welcome new paths He lays before us with open arms and faith and trust.
