Lk 10:38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.

We really need to read the entire story, not only here in Luke 10 but also in John 11.  Martha is given the short wrap.  It is true she was more intent on the tasks at hand rather than being with her guest.  So many of us have become task-oriented to the point that we often step on or ignore people who have more pressing needs.  But if you read John, you see how much faith Martha had in Jesus.  What we need to learn is to ask God which tasks are important to do and when to do them.  When doing our various tasks, we need to be alert to “divine interruptions.”  The task will always be there to do; the “divine interruption” may be fleeting.
