Dorcas (or Tabitha)

Ac 9:40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.

What kind of woman was Tabitha to make God want to continue her life on this earth for His glory? She was also known as Dorcas. Scripture tells us she was always doing good. When Peter arrived after her death, the other believers showed him all the things Dorcas, or Tabitha, had made. When we die, will our church family think we are need with them for the glory of God and have enough faith to pray us back to living among them or will they just grieve momentarily and then forget about us? The only legacy worth leaving is the one that brings glory to God. Tabitha did that with her life. What a glorious day it was when she opened her eyes after Peter prayed and resumed her service to others for the glory of God. My prayer is for all I do and say to bring glory to God the Father and His Son, Jesus through the gifts and power of His Holly Spirit. Amen
