Hagar

Ge 16:3 So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarai his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife.

Get your Bible out and re-read the entire story of Hagar.  Being given to Abram was not Hagar’s choice.  Sarai was using her.  She was sent away twice and twice, God protected her.  From her came the Arab race and nation.  From Sarai, renamed Sarah by God came the Israelite nation.  The division between the two started with Sarai and her treatment of Hagar.  It continues to this day.

Sometimes things that happen to us are not by our doing.  Like Hagar, we can depend on God’s protection through those times.  Nothing that touches us is outside of God’s hands.  We can trust Him in and through every circumstance we face.  Look to God, He will never leave us.
