Father’s Day

Jn 6:40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Father’s Day is this Sunday.  In preparation for it meditate about your heaveinly Father as you prepare to remember or honor your earthly father.”

Nowhere in the Old Testament is God addressed as “Father.”  After His ONLY Son, Jesus, came in the form of God’s creation of ma, Jesus searched mankind’s language for a word which would best describe the kind of love God, the Creator, has for the people of His creation.  Jesus chose the word “father.”

We were born as God’s creation.  We are adopted by Him as His children when we receive His ONLY begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and Savior.  Only then can we call our Creator God our Father God.

Meditate on the word “father” and praise God if you have been adopted as one of His children.
