Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

I find it amazing that Jesus, who was continually in communion with God the Father and walked with Him even as Jesus walked on this earth in the form of a man, found it necessary to spend a night in prayer. If He needed to do that, how much more do we need to spend so much more time in prayer than we do? This is a very busy time of year and the busier we are, the more important it is to spend time in prayer with our Father. John Wesley wrote that the busier his schedule was, the earlier he had to get up to pray. Yes, we can “pray on the go,” and that is a good thing to do, but we must not forsake our quality, one on one time with our God where we can not only talk with Him but also listen as He “talks” to us.
