Pass It On

2Co 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

What we receive from God, we are to pass on to others.   Whether it is comfort, love, peace, wisdom, financial blessings, it all comes from God and is all to be passed on to those around us.  Some have trouble giving and some have trouble receiving.  God speaks to me many times through poetry and song.  Here is what He taught me many years ago.

 Give and Receive

Much more blessed is it to give

Than it is to receive.

It’s so much fun when it’s your hands

Through which God meets a need.

What joy it is to feel His love

Flow through to those in need.

It makes you glad when God says,

“Through you I’ll meet this need.”

But when you find He’s changed your place

And others meet your need.

It’s hard to look them in the face

And joyfully receive.

But if you don’t receive their gift

You rob them of their joy,

For if there’s no one to receive

Through others God can’t give.

Father God, to You I say

Use me either way,

For when I give or I receive

They both are just the same.

Through our very human hands

Your love flows so free.

So blessed am I either way

Its Your Love I receive.
