A Book for Gaining Wisdom

Pr 1:1 –6 The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel: for attaining wisdom and discipline; for understanding words of insight; for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to the simple, knowledge and discretion to the young— let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance— for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.

I am so thankful for the book of Proverbs.  It is full of little nuggets of wisdom and very sound advice. I try to memorize a lot of them.  Not only can Proverbs give us good advice, they also can help us understand others.  Many times a verse of Proverbs has popped into my consciousness when making a decision or trying to decide what to respond to another.  Take some time today and read through a few chapters of Proverbs.  You might want to include a few proverbs every day as part of you’re your Bible study time.  They are indeed helpful, insightful and good for discretion not to mention enjoyable reading.
