Joy Complete

1Jn 1:4 We write this to make our joy complete

The apostles were writing to testify that Jesus, the Son of God, died and rose from the dead to give us eternal life with God.  How does the writing make their joy complete?  When you are given a precious gift, you want to show it to all who will look.  Showing it and/or telling about it makes the gift even more special and makes you happier.  God has given us the most special gift ever given – forgiveness of our sins and life eternal with Him.  When we realize the preciousness of that gift, we have to tell about it to make our joy complete.  There is nothing more exciting or joyful to talk about with others than the love of God through Jesus Christ.  My husband likes to rock.  When he starts to talk about things of God he starts rocking faster and faster.  After awhile I have to tell him to be quiet for a while because he is making me motion sick.  If you find yourself losing the joy of our Lord, try talking about Him to someone else.  Share His love and joy and your joy will be made complete in Him.
