New Every Morning

 Ro 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is  —his good, pleasing and perfect will.

 Someone once said, “Some minds are like concrete thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.”  As we grow older the tendency to become set in our thinking is even stronger.  I’ve watch some age and think there is nothing new, they’ve seen everything, done everything and know everything.  I have found it is a daily necessity to ask God to renew my mind.  Each day much enters my mind from a variety of sources.  It takes God’s Holy Spirit to sort out what has entered my mind, discard the trash and integrate the good.  The best ways to do this are through prayer, quiet meditation and the reading and studying of God’s written word, the Holy Bible.  As His Word says, La 3:22-23  Because of the LORD’S great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  Let us be sure to receive from Him the new.
