Bible Translations

Ro 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope

We are very rich.  We have the Old Testament and the New Testament to teach us the way of God and the way we should go.  We have it available to us in many languages.  We have many translations in the English language.  The question I get a lot is “What translation of the Bible is best?”  The answer – the on that speaks to you in a way which seems natural to you is best.  I have a few favorite passages.  I use these passages to compare translations.  I also have different uses for my Bibles.  Some are used as study Bibles.  For those I like to have good footnotes and other helps.  Some are used for reading Bibles.  I saved all the letters my husband wrote me when we were dating and engaged.  I like to re-read them from time to time.  The Bible is a big love letter from God.  Sometimes I just like to pick it up and read it.  I like to change translations from time to time as different translations speak to me in different ways.  The most important thing is to spend time in the Scriptures.  That is where we get our endurance and encouragement.
