Spiritual Breathing

2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you —unless, of course, you fail the test?

When is the last time you examined yourself?  We are in the habit of examining others.  We judge their actions and their motives.  Scriptures says to examine ourselves.  This is something I try to do every night as I lay in bed.  I ask God to reveal to me my sins of commission and omission.  I fall short every day.  I open my mind and heart to acknowledge my lack, confess it as sin, ask forgiveness, accept forgiveness, forgive myself and ask the Holy Spirit to enable me to correct my acts or lack of action.  I call this spiritual breathing.  We exhale our sins and inhale God’s forgiveness.  Just as we cannot hold our breath for long, we should not hold our confessions for long.  Join me in developing the habit of spiritual breathing.
