Captured Thoughts

2Co 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that is not of God.  This means we cannot justify our actions or inactions either to ourselves or to God.  Our tendency is to justify our actions or inactions.  We are also told to take every thought and make it obedient to Christ.  We sometimes feel so full of pride in how we present ourselves to others.  I, for one, am glad other people cannot hear my thoughts.  I must remember God can hear my thoughts.  As I have a thought outside of the laws of God, outside of His love, I must capture them by stopping the thought and replacing it with thoughts in line with God’s love and His laws.  When I first started working on this I found I could not stop the thought before it turned into action or inaction.  Gradually, with practice, I find I can stop the thought sooner.  Learning to walk in harmony with God takes work.  Let us be diligent in that work.
