Pray in Unity

Acts 12:12 When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying.

A group of believers gathered together in Mary’s house to pray for the release of Peter from prison.  Be sure you read the verses before and after to get the entire story.  These believers were all in agreement and were praying for the same thing, collectively.  When Peter did come to the door, they couldn’t believe it was really him.  They had not had enough experience to know how God answers prayers.  Jesus said when 2 or 3 agree in prayer it will be done.  Our problem today is really coming into agreement with others on any one thing.  We need to get on our knees as individuals and pray for the entire family of God to come into wholeness and agree to be in His perfect will.  We need to be praying for God’s desires and not for ours.  We need to put our self-centered attention away, asking God’s forgiveness for it, and pray for God’s glory to be shed over His Church.  Prayer is the force that allows what is done in heaven to come into reality on this earth.
