God’s Will 3

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, in order to prove by you what is that good and pleasing and perfect will of God.

This verse is a good thermometer of how we are doing.  Do we care more with pleasing those around us?  Do we want to blend in with the crowd?  Do we want to do and look as others in this world?  Shakespeare said, “Life is a big stage.”  We have a role to play.  We have 2 audiences: the people of this world and God.  Which audience are we going to play out our lives for?  The world is after the material, the temporally things.  The world is after instant and self-gratification.  We look at television and hear buy this, eat this, do this.  Most of us spend more time watching television than reading God’s word.  What information is most important to us?  God’s Word tells us what is good and pleasing and the perfect will of God.  Television tells us what is self-gratifying.  We have choices for what we watch, read or listen to.  I don’t want to be conformed to this world.  I want to be conformed to reflect the love and image of God.  I have a choice.  How I spend my time reflects my choice.  What about you?
