Mt 6:9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father

The prayer Jesus taught His disciples, and through them, us to pray starts with the words, “Our Father.”  “Our” is the plural word for “my”.  God is father for all who are adopted into His family through the blood of His only begotten Son, Jesus.  Accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savor gives us the privilege of call God, “Father.”  What a marvelous and awesome privilege.  The Creator of all the universes, the Almighty Who was always and will always be, is “our Father”.  Let’s really try to wrap ourselves around with that thought.  When we really think about what it means and that it’s actually for real, it’s almost too much to grab on to.  Say this out loud, “God is my Father.”  Say it over several times and let it sink into your very being.  How can you not have joy in your heart knowing your Father is God, Himself.  It more than makes up for any hurt we have walked through on this earth.  Remind yourself throughout the day just Who your Father is.  Don’t go any further than the first two words of this prayer today.  Just say these two words over and over throughout the day.  We will be living our way through this beautiful prayer Jesus taught us for however many days it takes.  Today, Thank You, God for making me Your child.  You are my Father.
