Come Home Seeing

Jn 9:7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam”  (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

Yes, this is the Scripture we read yesterday.  Yesterday we talked about receiving the miracle of sight.  Today we talk about coming back to God and thanking Him.  The man came back seeing.  He not only had his blind eyes changed to seeing eyes, he was able to see Jesus.  As we read the rest of the chapter we see the man’s faith.  He stands against the leaders and attests to the miracle of Jesus.  He doesn’t side step the questions of the leaders but stands his ground.  He even invites the leaders to believe.  He pays a price for this.  He is thrown out of the temple.  We are not told any more about this man but I suspect he traveled with those who followed Jesus.  God forgives sin in our lives every day.   He does miracles everyday.   Do we thank Him?  Do we testify to others sharing what God has and is doing in our lives?  So often we are so consumed with self we fail to give God glory by sharing His works with others.  We act as if what God does for us is for us alone.  Sometimes we might have to bear a cost for sharing.  Are we willing?  Do we really love God first before all else?  We need to stop “playing around with our faith and be vocal about it.  We need to live in the open so others can see.  As we go about our day, what are others seeing?  More important, what is God seeing and hearing?
