Romans 8:28  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

“What did I ever do to deserve this?”  is the cry of so many whenever something they don’t consider good happens in their lives.  The real question should be, “Whatever did I do NOT to deserve this.”  We are sinful people.  We are sinful in our actions and in our thoughts.  Yet we expect all things should be just the way we want them.  We do not think God needs to get our attention.  We live our lives for ourselves and for our own comforts and pleasures.  When we receive Jesus into our lives and are adopted as God’s very own children instead of just His creations, we can be assured that everything that touches our lives is in line with God’s purpose for us and for the establishment of His Kingdom on earth.  Instead of crying, “What did I do to deserve this?” We should, “God, thank You for not giving me what I deserve.”  Let us remember in all things God does work for our ultimate good and turn our complaints and questions into praises for Him and His love and grace.
