Matt. 27:46   My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Jesus had never experienced being separated from His Father.  There was no way God could be a part of Jesus, His Son, as Jesus took on the burden of our sins.  God cannot be in the presence of sin.  Jesus experienced that painful separation from the Father so we would never have to experience separation again.  What a miraculous and marvelous sacrifice of love that was.  Many have suffered death on a cross but there was only One Who could take on the sin of all humanity.  Jesus had emotions just as we do.  Think about how deeply it hurt to be separated from the One Who had always – even before time – been a part of you and you Him.  It is hard for us to comprehend in our sinful state.  We can now always be in the Presence of God after we come to His Son, Jesus and accept Him as our Lord and Savior and receive forgiveness for our purposeful separation through sins.  The question is have we done this and are we becoming more and more aware each day of the very real presence of God, our Father, through His Son Jesus Christ?
