Worshiping Idols

Da 3:12 But there are some Jews whom you have set over the affairs of the province of Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

The four young men stood firm.  They knew they were to worship God the creator and no one or nothing else.  They did this even though they knew they would face death.  Most of us today don’t face death because of who or what we worship – at least so far in the United States.  However we are guilty of worshiping other images.  Anything we put before God is adultery of our worship of God.  It may be we want to go boating on Sunday morning rather than go to church.  After all, we reason, it’s only one Sunday.  It’s amazing how fast one Sunday can lead to another and before we realize it, we no longer attend church.  We can put all sorts of activities before our worship of and service to God.  A good test is to look at how much time we spend on what.  As we enter the Thanksgiving season let us review how much of the time God gives us that we give back to Him.
