Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Since God is the One Who meets all our needs we should continually be thanking Him.  This is one reason we give thanks as a blessing or grace before our meals.  It makes me sad when I see people sit down for a meal and just start eating.  It blesses me when I see them saying a blessing, giving thanks to God for His prevision of food, before they take the first bite.  Grace or blessing and giving thanks should not be limited to meals eaten in our homes.  It is a good witness to give thanks when eating out – be it fast food or a restaurant.  We’ve had servers stand quietly at our table, listening, as we gave our thanks to God and asked Him to bless those who had a part in preparing and serving our meal.  The servers have thanked us for our prayers.  Let us be sure we always give God thanks before we “dig in.”  We do this not only because we are thankful for His goodness but also because we never know who might see or listen and turn to God.
