2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

There is a lot in the Bible about light.  The light shines in our hearts for a reason.  Light reveals things.  It shows whether a path is clear or there are obstacles in the way.  More crime is committed in darkness because they don’t want their crimes to show.  Sin seeks to hide in darkness.  Darkness is not always physical.  We can be in darkness spiritually, emotionally and mentally.  God’s light is to shine within our entire being – spirit, mind and emotions.  As we allow more and more of God’s light to shine within us we gain knowledge of God.  We do this through prayer, meditation and Bible study.  As we walk in obedience more light will shine in and through us.  Today is a good day to ask God to shine His light into the areas of our lives and reveal to us where more of His light is needed.  We want to be fully prepared for His coming.
