Always Listening

Psalms 10:17 You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

When our son was an infant and we would put him in the church nursery I had to be careful and sit a good distance away from the nursery wall. This was because I could recognize his slightest cry over the cries of others. God is that way. He is always listening and knows the cry (or voice) of each one of us. Like a mother’s ears are always tuned to the cry of her children, God is even better and more consistent at hearing and identifying. There is nothing we can say or think that God doesn’t hear. This is because He loves us. He loves us so very much that He was willing to be separated from His Son for the first and only time to allow His Son, Jesus, to take on our sins for all times. God had to turn away from Jesus at that time because God has no sin and is not in the presence of sin. This amount of love is impossible for us to understand. Praise God we don’t need to understand this depth of love in order to accept it. All we need do is open our heart and mind and life to God’s Son, Jesus and commit to walk in the way He showed us how to walk. How beautiful it is that there is Someone Who is always listening for us. Should we not be always listening for Him?
