Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

Many times we get swept up in over-work. We become exhausted. This is a good barometer of our relationship with God. If we are so busy we probably have been ignoring our quiet time with God. This affects our focus. We become out of touch with our purpose—to love and praise God and spread His word and light to others. John Wesley, the founder of the United Methodist denomination, was a good example of how we should schedule our time. The more he had to do in a day, the more time he allotted to spend one-on-one time with God. He was aware of where his source of wisdom, power and energy came from. It’s very much like a car. If we don’t fill up the tank with fuel the care won’t go. We must be sure we fill our tanks (our spirit and our mind) with the fuel God has for us. Let us be sure to take ourselves to the filling station (a quiet place with God) every day.
