Pursue His Kingdom

Luke 12:31 Instead, pursue his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Jesus has been talking about our tendency to worry about things: food, clothes, homes. His advice is for us to “pursue His kingdom.”. To pursue something’s means you actively and eagerly go after it, desiring to attain it at all costs. If we keep our focus on God and His desires and purpose for us there is never anything to worry or be stressed about. We worry and stress when we are pursuing things we need not pursue. God promised to supply our need for the work He has for each one of us. We would have better health and more energy if we would keep centered on God and allowed Him to work out our physical needs while we pursue His kingdom to come on earth with none left behind. Our question is do we really believe God will do what He says? I say let’s give it a try at least for the remaining Lent. If we really pursue His kingdom our Easter celebration will by the joyous one ever.
