Luke 12:23;31 Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well (The Holy Bible, New International Version).

The closer Jesus gets to Jerusalem the more intense He is on our not seeking after the material things of this earth. We are here to connect with His power to bring His Kingdom to this earth. He doesn’t need it to be that way. God is entirely capable of doing whatever He wants whenever He wants. But God has adopted us as His children through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. That makes us joint heirs with Him. As joint heirs we have joint privileges as well as joint responsibilities. We have been given the privilege of uniting with God’s power to bring about His kingdom on this earth. What a great privilege. What great responsibility. Yet, we insist on keeping our eyes on the lesser important things. We continue not to trust God with our basic needs. We continue to look to ourselves for our power or to other things like money, control and more you can name. Our question is are we willing to trust God with our basic needs, roll up our sleeves so to speak, learn how to be and do from His written word and get busy through prayer, obedience and service surrounded by our love for God? Our question is what is our priority for today? I pray we agree with God’s priority. Let’s keep our faces set toward our Jerusalem and be alert to all God puts in our path as we walk.
