Psalms 105:4 Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

The small band was practicing a piece together and decided to record it on one of their cell phones. The recording revealed their mistakes and they were able to correct them. Unfortunately as we live our lives out we don’t have an erase and re-record opportunity. It is usually too late to correct a word already spoken or an action already taken. In our fast-paced life we tend to forget to slow down and think before we say or do things. Praying and listening before we say or do things is more important. Our question is how do we slow down our fast-paced momentum. I’ve learned the days I start out with God and a fresh infilling of His Spirit I’m more prone to listen before speaking or doing. Having experienced this you would think I would always start my days with Him. Starting with Him involves more than a “Good morning, Lord. Thank You for this new day.” I’ve found I need to get up early enough to have some quality and quantity time with Him. John Wesley learned this also. He was quoted as saying, “The more I have to do in a day the earlier I must get up to have more time to pray.” From his good discipline the denomination of the Methodist was born. What wonderful things God could do through each of us if we followed the example of John Wesley in our start of each day.
