1 Corthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful, It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never ends.

Love is not envious.  There are other words for envious: jealous, dis-satisfied.  We seem to compare what we have with what others have.  We don’t like to be in the have not category.  Not only are we tempted to be envious of what others have, we are constantly being told we should have all those things through advertisements on signs, tv, radio, magazines the internet and any other source advitisers can find.  We are taught at an early age we should have the best and be the best.  We find ourselves dis-satisfied with what we have and who we are.  We forget it’s not what we have or who we are but rather whose we are and what He chooses to give us for His glory and purpose.  Our question is do we desire to be full and identified with God through His Son Jesus by the power of His Holy Spirit or do we want to be full of this world given over to sin and be identified as worldly?  Once again the choice is ours.
