Keeping Score

1Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. . It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. . Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

Love keeps no account of wrongs. We are so good at keeping account. We use it as ammunition when we are arguing. . We keep score. We want to be sure we hurt back the one who hurts us. God does not keep account of wrongs or sins after we confess. When He forgives He strikes it from His book. He never brings it up to us again. He says it is as far as the east is from the west. The sins we do against God are much worse than anything that can be done against us. When we pray the prayer Jesus taught, the prayer we call “The Lord’s Prayer,” we as God to forgive us foin the same manner we forgive others. Our question is do we want God to keep score on us in the same way we keep score on others? Once again, as with all the aspects of love, the choice is ours to make.
