Galatians 1:4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

Jesus gave Himself for us. No one else gave Him. He chose to give Himself for us. He did this both for love for us and to be in the will of His Father. He was not forced to do this. Because He gave Himself for us we no longer need to pay for our own sins, our own choice of separation from God. When we receive the gift of Jesus and we confess our sins God forgives us and no longer holds us accountable for them. Because of Jesus there is no end to God’s forgiveness. God’s forgiveness brings us back into fellowship with Him but it doesn’t remove the consequences on this earth from our sins. We still must walk out the worldly consequences of our choices. God has given us directions for our walk on this earth in His written Word, the Holy Bible. When we follow it we find our walk with God less interrupted by sin. Our question is will we choose to walk according to God’s instructions?
