Psalms 100:3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ;we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. (The Holy Bible, New International Version)

Old Car

A friend of ours just started getting well from one problem when another problem with his body occurred. It made me think about old cars. It seems when one part goes out on an old car and is repaired another part goes out. Many times the old cars have had multiple owners. Our “old car,” our bodies have had multiple owners. We start out thinking our bodies are ours. Satan tries to turn them into belonging to him. When we finally realize our bodies, our minds, our emotions and our spirits belong exclusively to God Who has wonderfully knitted them together we can rest in His Ownership. Our question comes in when we forget Who owns us and try to act as we are the owners. The decision is ours and is on-going on a continual basis. With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us we are empowered to resist the ploys of Satan. Resisting our own self-indulgence is a choice we must make in and throughout each and every day.
