Whose Approval Do We Want

Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to gain the approval of people, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a slave of Christ!

What a good question to ask of ourselves.  Whose approval do we want of our actions, words and thoughts.  The approval of man is fleeting.  We are fickle in what pleases us.  God is steadfast.  He never changes.  What I want to hear when I graduate from this earth is God telling me He is pleased with me.  His approval lasts for eternity.  Man’s approval is quickly gone.  Our question is whose approval do we want?  If we want God’s approval we will obey Him.  We can only do this if we know what He has told us through His written Word – the Holy Bible.  This takes Bible study and meditation.  I had a dear friend who walked this earth for 106 years.  When she was 102 she told me a day she didn’t learn something new about her Lord and her God was a day waisted.  This has really stuck with me.  I don’t want to waste a single day so every day finds me in the Bible, in prayer and in meditation.  Then I know what He wants of me that day.
