Psalms 18:33  He gives me the agility of a deer; he enables me to negotiate the rugged

We were on a day trip and out in the middle of a dirt road in a national forest when some deer suddenly ran out in front of us.  They ran across the road with swift feet and seemed to have the assurance they would get to the other side.  As they ran across I admired their gracefulness.  There was no sign of fright.  I’m not sure they were even aware of our car.  Their feet were swift and firm.  God gives us the agility of deer when we walk the path He has laid out for us.  When we find our steps unsure or uneven we probably have veered off the path for us.  We stay on the path through faith and obedience.  As faith grows our obedience grows and our walk become as sure as a deer.  The terrain doesn’t matter to a deer; its steps are sure.  Our trials need not alter the assurance of our faith in God’s provision and the steadfastness of our walk through His love and the power and wisdom of His Holy Spirit within us.  Our questions is are we always looking to Him?  Any trial we face has a “God Reason.”  The way we walk can bring glory to God and can deepen our faith.  The way we walk can witness to others of the love and faithfulness of God.  We can choose to walk with insecurity or fear or we can choose to walk with the confidence that God is faithful in all He says and all He allows to come our way.  As the deer looked straight to their destination as they ran, let us look to our destination as we walk this earth – our destination of eternal life with God.  With that promise there is nothing to fear and no reason to walk with hesitation.
