Luke 2:52  And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and with people.

We are almost half way thtough the Advent season.  We’ve looked at the characters involved and, hopefully, we have all thought about what traits in those characters we most closely relate and what traits we would like to see increased in us.  We are on this earth to love, serve in obedience to God and grow in both love and service.  We have already found favor with God through receiving His Son, Jesus, into our hearts, minds and lives.  Through His Holy Spirit we can grow in wisdom, in our character and in even more favor with God and with those who see how we live.  Our question is do we want to keep the discipline necessary for that growth?  When school is out for extended vacations the children tend too forget some of what they learned and the teachers must start back revewing what has already been taught.  When we skip days without getting into the Word of God and without meditating on it and listening to Him we also slip backwards.  Let us never get so busy or distracted that we miss the opportunity to grow daily with our God.
