Bear All Things

1 Corinthians 13:7. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

This is something we all must practice.  It is so easy for us to become anger or resentful when we feel we have been wronged, misunderstood or just have our feelings hurt.  Most of us probably know people who have left churches in anger or with hurts or resentments because of those feelings.  Some think it is a reason to not go to church.  Our question is why do we go to church?  God Ella us not to avoid the assembling or gathering of the saints.  We need the encouragement of others to grow.  We also need the mistakes, inventiveness or misunderstandings and/or disagreements of others to grow.  Bearing all things produces growth in the love of God and sharing the love of God.  Jesus was hurt by His closest friends when they ran from danger, deserting Him.  That didn’t change His love for them.  I know of only 2 reasons to leave a church.  God calls us to minister elsewhere or God’s Word is no longer honored or spoken.  When someone leaves because of resentment or hurt they take those emotions with them.  Some even play what I call, “musical churches” like the game “musical chairs” where you go around the chairs and try not to be left out when the music stops.  Let us not only learn to endure all things but let’s also learn to reach out to those who haven’t learned.
