Anger Without Sin

Jonah 2:5 LORD said, “Are you really so very angry?”

It is so easy to get angry when things don’t go the way we think they should.  Hurt, disappointment and not understanding quite often lead to anger.  As self-centered people most of our anger is because our needs, our desires or our emotions are disagreed with, ignored or, in our opinion, abused.  When that happens we become angry at a person or group of people.  Jesus displayed anger in the temple and turned over the tables of the money-changers.  People could only use temple money to buy the needed animals for sacrifice and the money-changers were charging a big mark-up for the service.  Jesus was angry at what they were doing not at the people doing it.  He even said in Ephesians 4:26. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger.  It is right to be angry at a sinful act but not at another person.  We are also not to let our anger spill over into another day.  How do we do that when we hear or see the hateful cruelty to fellow people?  We take them before the throne of God in prayer and intercede for both the doers and the receivers.  We pray for the love of God to descend, heal and work within all lives involved.  We become willing to ask God and listen to see if we are contributing to the action or if He would have us be part of the healing.  We are commanded to love all people regardless of who they are or what they do.  Jesus interceded for Those who nailed Him to the cross.  Our question is can we do less?
