Team Work

Romans 12:4-5. For just as in one body we have many members, and not all the members serve the same function, so we who are many are one body in Christ, and individually we are members who belong to one another.

Just as a sports team cannot play well or win if all the team members do not co-ordinate with each other for their common goal, we, the Church, cannot function without working together as a team to win our common goal – that bot one be lost from God.  As with a sports team, we each are given different positions to ” play,” but all positions are equally needed and must function together.  Like a sports team we have a coach.  Unlike a sports team our coach never has a bad call, always gives each player all that is needed and never prefers one player over another.  Our coach is God’s Holy Spirit.  Our team is owned by God, the Creator of all that was, is or will ever be.  Our team was purchased by God’s only Son, Jesus, with His most previous blood.  We can have no better owner, no more expensive price and no better coach.  Our question is are we willing to be a team member and follow directions from the Coach or do we choose to handicap the team and try to shine on our own making our own calls.  The choice is ours.   What do you choose?
