Genesis 2:17.  but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will surely die.”

The first we read of knowledge in the Bible is right after God creates Adam.  God told Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.  Adan was created in God’s image and only knew God’s  love and goodness.  He had no knowledge of evil.  Satan came into the picture and I ticked man to seek to know more than God.  We inherit that nature today.  We listen to the news to hear all that is happening. We listen to gossip.  We get on social media to find out about others.  We seek knowledge of all types.  Our question is what proportion of our time do we spend seeking the knowledge God has for us in His written word (the Holy Bible) compared to the time seeking knowledge through the worldly sources?  Let’s get our proportions right during this Lenten season.
