2 Chronicles 1:10. Now give me wisdom and discernment so I can effectively lead this nation. Otherwise no one is able to make judicial decisions for this great nation of yours.”

Discernment is seeing deeply into something.  Many times we are distracted by what we see or hear on the surface.  Wisdom and discernment go hand in hand.  The wisdom we are expected to use grows with use and experience from the knowledge we have learned.   The knowledge we have learned through meditation on God’s instruction book is the beginning of wisdom.  The wisdom Solomon was given was used with discretion even though world leaders came to see his wisdom.  Real wisdom is not used to show how much knowledge we have but used to lead to the truth, light and glory of God.  When we ask God for wisdom our motive must be right.  Solomon wanted to lead his country for the glory of God not for his own glory.  Our question is who’s glory do we seek, mans glory of us or man glorifying God?
