Job 28:28. And he said to mankind,  The fear of the Lord – that is wisdom,
and to turn away from evil is understanding. ”

The use of fear here doesn’t mean to be frightened. It means to respect, to be in awe of, to acknowledge His total power over all that is in existence.  Those who don’t know God don’t think much about Him and don’t follow His instructions for living on this earth.  They may use His name a good bit but not to call on Him.  These people have no real wisdom.  They don’t understand nor, often times recognize evil.  Real wisdom can only come through knowledge of God: who He is, what He can do, what He wants from us.  Understanding that we can either follow evil or God and choosing to follow God is the beginning of wisdom.  Each step we take that leads us closer to our knowledge of God brings us a little more wisdom.  Our question is are we willing to acknowledge apart from God we are nothing?  God has chosen only one way for us to approach Him and grow in knowledge and wisdom.  Thai way is through His only Son, Jesus.  We must walk through this door to eat of the tree of good and evil and have discernment of what is good and what is evil.  Have you walked through that door?  If not you can do so right now.  Just tell Jesus (He can hear you) you want Him os Lord (boss) and savior in your heart and mind.  He will bring His Holy Spirit into you to guide you into knowledge of God and through that wisdom and discernment will grow.
