With Open Eyes

Luke 24:31. At this point their eyes were opened and they recognized him. Then he vanished out of their sight.

What was it that opened their eyes to recognize Jesus?  They were consumed with grief, disappointment and confusion.  Even as Jesus explained the Scriptures to them they didn’t recognize Him.  It wasn’t until (Luke 24:30)”When he had taken his place at the table with them, he took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them.”  He did this at their last  supper together.  That is when He told them  (1 Corinthians 12:26) as often as we eat the bread and drink the cup we show the Lord’s death until He comes.  Our question is do we understand what we are doing when we partake of these elements?  Do we take them with our eyes open and on Jesus or is He out of our sight and mind.  Paul reminds us (1 Corinthians 11:27.) not to eat the bread or drink the cup in an unworthy manner.  Let us not only open our eyes, but our minds and hearts as well
