John 21:13 Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

This is the 3rd time Jesus confirms His identity through the breaking of bread.  After they ate Jesus addresses Peter.  (John 21:17). “Jesus said a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” and said,  “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus replied, “Feed my sheep.”   Peter was hurting and grieving over his denials of knowing Jesus.  For each denial Jesus asked Peter if He loved Him.  Jesus used the word “agape” for love which means unconditional love as God loves us.  The first 2 times Peter responds with phileo which means brotherly love.  Finally he responds with agape.  We have trouble with the English language in that we have only one word for love.  We use that word to describe our feelings about food, events  entertainment, people and other occasions.  The love God commands us to have is not limited or always exclusive to the emotion of phileo.  It is a love of choice.  Our question is do we have the love of choice for God and for all His creation?  If we do we must be feeding His sheep.  Feeding brings growth which builds up.  Let all our words and actions build up others.
