1 Corinthians 15:6. Then he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep.

Paul was not a disciple when Jesus walked this earth.  In fact he was a persecuted of the believers.  Yet, after his experience on the Emmaus road the believers evidently testified to Paul of the appearances of Jesus after His resurrection and before His ascension.  Their testimony was enough for Paul to write about it as a fact.  It must have been difficult for those believers to testify to Paul, a well-known and dangerous enemy of the past.  They had to have forgiven him the past persecutions before he came to know and believe in Jesus for himself.  Sometimes we have trouble accepting a new believer; especially if we know their past.  Out question is since God forgives them and welcomes them into His family, who are we to do less?  Let us take greater effort to accept and love those who enter the new life in Christ.
