Place of Comfort

Matthew 28:16. So the eleven disciples went to Galilee to the mountain Jesus had designated.

Apparently Jesus told the disciples to go back to Galilee and meet Him on a nearby mountain.  They were back in their home-turf.  After a period of confusion, fear and unrest it’s nice to be in familiar surroundings.  We tend to relax and are more able to open up to new things when we are in familiar surroundings.  Jesus was ready to give the disciples their final instructions.  Then they would witness something extraordinary.  It would be something unknown to them and almost unbelievable.  Right now they are contented to be back in their home turf.  After we go through a challenge it is important to get back to “normal” as soon as possible.  This is what is concentrated on with victims of disaster.  In familiar surroundings healing comes quicker.  When we travel and have visited other churches it is so good to come back home to our church.  As soon as we step through the doors we feel love and comfort (even when the church is empty).  Everyone needs a place where the feel love and comfort.  Our question today is where is your place of love and comfort?   What about that place brings you love and comfort?  How can you bring those things to other places for other people?
