Matthew 17:1-3. Six days later Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John the brother of James, and led them privately up a high mountain. And he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. Then Moses and Elijah also appeared before them, talking with him.

We think of Jesus as God which is right but we fail to think of Him as a human with a body which will feel pain, emotions which feel loneliness, and a mind to make choices much like we have.  There were a few times He had the choice as to whether to follow through with God’s plan to redeem mankind.  The first was in the wilderness after His baptism.  The above scripture is another time.  He knew He was about to face the cross.  He took His closest friends with Him for emotional encouragement.  When He was transformed He had a choice to return to the Father.  Moses went easily,  Elijah didn’t even face death.  What a temptation it must have been to want to be free from the burden.  He looked at the friends He loved and knew their future along with all mankind depended on His choice.  Our question is do we really realize what it cost Him and how very much He did for us?  When we are faced with a difficult choice will we choose the easy way are go God’s way?
