Enough Asking

2 Corinthians 12:8. I asked the Lord three times about this, that it would depart from me.

Paul had a problem and prayed for God to heal it.  He prayed earnestly 3 times.  For some reason he was able to hear God’s answer the 3rd time and heard it was not in his or God’s best interest for his request to be fulfilled.  Sometimes our mind is so set on a problem being resolved in the way we think it should that it becomes hard to hear any other possible solution.  When we don’t see results to our prayers there are many things to look at.  Is there un-confessed sin standing in our way?  Did we not follow through on what God asked us to do?  Are our motives wrong? Even though what we may be asking for is good, will it keep us from receiving God’s best?  Another question is are we so intent on what we want that we can’t hear what God wants?  Next time we become frustrated at prayer result let’s ask ourselves these questions.
