Grow Fruit

Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self- control. Against such things there is no law.

Most fruit trees bear only one kind of fruit. The fruit tree of the Holy Spirit bears 9 different fruits. When we accept Jesus and receive His Holy Spirit we become a tree with little buds of the 9 different fruits. Our goal is for all of the fruits to grow. For fruits to grow they need sun, water and fertilizer. Our tree also needs the Son (Jesus), water (the Holy Spirit) and fertilizer (God’s written Word, the Holy Bible). Our question is are we letting our tree in the Son or are we shading it in sin? Are we allowing it to be watered or do we say the Holy Spirit was for a different time? Are we fertilizing it daily with style and meditation on the written word or are we too busy with temporal, earthly things? God has planted the fruit seeds and given us the tools to bring all 9 fruits into full ripeness. The choice is ours.
