Faith and Works

James 2:17. So also faith, if it does not have works, is dead being by itself.

We cannot work our wy into eternal life with God. But faith in god without good works to demonstrate the faith is dead. Faith leads to works. Works don’t lead to faith; they only demonstrate the faith. We must have balance in our lives. We build everything on faith. Faith grows through the practice of private prayers and in-depth meditation on the written word of God. These will lead us into using our spiritual eyes and increasing our love for others. This increases our desire to serve God through our serving others. All this service is good as long as we are looking at God as we serve and not ourselves. Our question is why are we serving? If it is to look good or because we want thanks we aren’t serving God. Let us look upward as we serve outward.
