The Axman

2 Kings 6:5. As one of them was felling a log, the ax head dropped into the water. He shouted, “Oh no, my master! It was borrowed!”

We all have loved ones and friends that have sunk into the deep waters of the ways of this world. They appear to be out of the reach of God. As with this ax the need someone who cares that they are lost in the depths. They need someone who will call out to the Master for help. The Master would not pull the ax up by Himself. He could have but He wanted to use His power through the axman. We are the axmen for the lost we know. We need to lift them up to our Master, God, and be willing to allow God to flow through us to them through our prayers, our example, our love and our presence. Our question is do we care enough to pray and be used to bring them up from the depths?
